The RCA Opal is on the bottom of the pile of flash MP3 players. It comes with good earbuds and is cheaper than most of the other players. But its advantages end there.
The video screen is very small, and resolution is below standard. The overall design of the player looks silly, with bright bubbles of blue and red, but at least it’s fairly thin. Video compatibility is also a problem (if the small screen doesn’t deter you from watching videos) since the Opal only plays WMV files and the included conversion software sometimes made videos unclear or unwatchable.
The Opal doesn’t have very many features. It includes a voice and line-in recorder, but doesn’t even have an FM radio or expandable memory.
It may be cheaper than most, but when it comes to features and compatibility the RCA Opal probably isn’t worth the lower price.
