Toshiba’s entry into the flash MP3 player market is great for people who primarily concerned about audio quality. However, it doesn’t have much to offer for anybody else. It only plays WMV videos and isn’t compatible with Mac computers. It does sync especially well with Windows Media Center, though.
Audio and video quality on the Toshiba Gigabeat T400 are exceptional, but the player doesn’t have any of the extra features we have come to expect from MP3 players. Combine that with a below average battery life and lack of firmware support and the Gigabeat T400 slips considerably in the rankings.
Even though it is quite a bit cheaper than other flash MP3 players we reviewed and has excellent audio quality, the Toshiba Gigabeat T400 suffers from compatibility and feature limitations that keep it from being a good choice.Toshiba Gigabeat T400 Screenshots. Click to Enlarge
